CCPT is a play-based, developmentally responsive mental health intervention for children aged 3 to 10 who are experiencing emotional, behavioural, social or relational difficulties. It is grounded in the belief that every child has an inner capacity for growth and healing. The therapist provides a safe, consistent space where the child experiences empathy, understanding and full acceptance.
Through play and symbolic expression, children explore their inner world and process feelings in the way that feels most natural to them. In CCPT, the healing comes from the relationship - the child’s experience of being truly seen, understood and accepted. This is what leads to lasting, positive change.
Research shows that CCPT can help children to reduce emotional and behavioural difficulties, improve overall functioning, strengthen coping abilities and develop healthier ways of relating to others.
